Thailand plans to levy an e-commerce tax from next year.

It is reported that Thailand is expected to levy a value-added tax on e-commerce business from next year, with the goal of collecting 3 to 4 billion baht (about 98 million to 1.31 billion US dollars) of tax each year to allow government authorities to benefit from Thailand's booming e-commerce business.

The data shows that the e-commerce market in Thailand is expected to reach US$3.54 billion in 2019. The CAGR of 2018-2022 is expected to be 13.2%, and reached US$5.83 billion in 2022. It is expected to surpass Singapore in 2020 and become the second largest e-commerce market in Southeast Asia.
